Mahlepi Ground Powder or sometimes known as Mahleb or Mahlebi is a unique Greek spice with a distinctive, fruity taste.

It is made from the inner kernels of fruit pits from a native Persian cherry tree.

It is  utilised in baked goods, particularly in Middle-Eastern and Greek cooking. Greek bakeries make traditional sweet bread during easter called tzoureki.
