About Organic Spelt Grain
Organic Spelt Grain is great for cooking or try making your own freshly ground coarse or fine organic wholemeal spelt flour. Spelt can be eaten whole in salad, raw muesli or to make Essene bread, and grown further to produce nutritious spelt grass for juicing, just like wheatgrass.
Spelt is of the same family as wheat, but makes a tasty alternative to wheat.
Spelt is a very old grain and was used in biblical times and by the Romans. Although spelt does contain gluten, it seems to cause fewer sensitivities in some people who are intolerant of wheat. Spelt can be used to replace wheat in many recipes. Spelt flour is slightly sweet and nutty and looks like a grain of wheat, only quite a bit larger.
